The AR Creation Studios (ACS) Visualization Lab is a black-box room offering approximately 180 degrees of immersive projection on a curved, fixed projection screen measuring 7 feet tall by 38 feet wide with the availability to duplicate projected images onto monitors external from the Lab. The Visualization Lab is a space to create and present immersive scholarship, communicate research, conduct active-learning workshops, and facilitate a variety of activities.

Patrons are expected to follow ACS Visualization Lab policies in addition to the AR Creation Studios General Use Policy.

Reservation requests must be made at least 14 days in advance by filling out the ACS Visualization Lab Reservation Request Form.

No regular after-hours use or access is permitted. Special requests for after-hours reservation requests to support academic use and special events will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis and scheduled based on staff availability and feasibility of proposed use.

Reservation Policies

  • Reservation requests must be made at least 14 days in advance by filling out the ACS Visualization Lab Reservation Request Form. An ACS staff member will be in contact with the reserving patron within 2 business days.
    • Preference will be given to activities utilizing the immersive capabilities of the Lab.
  • After the reservation request is reviewed for approval, the patron will be scheduled for an initial orientation session to provide a space and technology overview and to discuss how the proposed use can be fulfilled.
    • Depending on the proposed use of the space, ACS staff may recommend at least one follow-up technology test session before the scheduled reservation date to ensure success.
  • Patrons may only book one AR Creation Studios space or piece of equipment at a time. No concurrent reservations are allowed.
  • Patrons must check in at the AR Creation Studios service desk and present a photo ID (UARK ID preferred) upon arrival for their reservation. Check out is required at the conclusion of all reservations.
  • All reservations have a 15-minute grace period for arrival. If after this time the reserving patron has still not arrived, reservations will be cancelled.
    • Patrons are expected to cancel their reservations ASAP if their plans change so others may reserve the space.
    • Excessive no-shows/failure to cancel may result in booking privileges being revoked for a limited period.
  • Once checked in, ACS staff will open the reserved space for the reserving patron and any guests.
  • Patrons must leave the space at the end of their scheduled reservation time. This allows ACS staff time to prepare the space before the next patron arrives.
